Presentation of Winning Projects of Hackathon in Gyumri: Media Literacy Week

The Public Journalism Club, as part of Media Literacy Week in Armenia, is organizing a meeting with the winning teams from the Hackathon, which will take place at the Gyumri Technology Center on November 8, 2024, at 15:00.

During the event, the three winning teams will present their innovative projects, followed by speeches highlighting the critical role of media literacy in today’s information landscape. The target audience will include educators, students, youth, and journalists, all of whom play a pivotal role in fostering media literacy and combating misinformation.

Additionally, we will host an interactive contest where participants can test a mobile game and a photo and link verification app created by the Hackathon teams, TruthDealer and VerifEYE, aimed at improving digital media skills. The contest will encourage hands-on engagement, and winners will receive various prizes.

The event will feature welcoming remarks from Anastasia Kolivas, the Department of State Grants Officer, and Seda Muradyan, the president of the Public Journalism Club. Representatives from the Shirak Regional Administration, the Gyumri Municipality, educators, IT professionals, and journalists will also be in attendance.

The registration deadline is November 4 at 13:00. Please register here: https://bit.ly/3AoaKDF.

This event is organized in collaboration with the Gyumri Technology Center as part of the “Hack2Check: Media and Information Literacy Hackathon” program, which is implemented by the Public Journalism Club in cooperation with the Armenian General Benevolent Union Armenia office and funded through a Department of State Public Diplomacy Section grant.
