Project title: Assisting independent media and CSOs in enhancing the access to reliable information on the European Union and EU enlargement on social media in Armenia

Project funding: Transformation Promotion Programme of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic

Leading organization: EUROPEUM European Policy Institute

Implementing partner: Public Journalism Club

The project aimed to promote the availability of reliable information about the European Union and the EU enlargement process on Armenian social media.

The project was implemented by the Prague-based EUROPEUM Institute for European Policy and the Public Journalism Club NGO, with the aim of supporting independent media and civil society organizations in assessing, raising awareness and advocating for information on the European Union and EU enlargement on social media in Armenia. The project aimed to diversify and expand the availability of such content among Armenian social media users.

Through planned events and produced materials, the implementing partner organizations closely cooperated with the aim of improving the information flow on social media in Armenia about the EU and the EU accession process, both in terms of quality and quantity of content. In a saturated social media environment, where different actors compete for public support by spreading images, information and discourse, addressing this issue is important for all Eastern Partnership countries, and Armenia in particular.
