The Public Journalism Club (PJC), emphasizing the importance of promoting and strengthening a culture of Nonviolent Communication (NVC) in Armenia, has developed and published an educational booklet dedicated to NVC within the framework of the project “Professional Media, Practitioners and Grassroots Joining Forces for Dialogue,” implemented with funding from the European Commission and in cooperation with International Alert. It is the first practical guide of its kind in the Armenian language and represents an important contribution to the development and awareness of a culture of nonviolent communication in Armenia.
Nonviolent Communication is a globally recognized methodology of respectful and needs-based communication that promotes trust, mutual understanding, and a culture of responsible speech in interpersonal and group relationships.
The booklet was developed by the project beneficiary and partner, Gohar Grigoryan, inspired by her participation in NVC capacity-building trainings conducted by the Public Journalism Club, as well as by Marshall Rosenberg’s book “Nonviolent Communication: A Language of Life.” The practical content, examples, and exercises were reviewed and refined under the mentorship of Cinta Depondt, a certified trainer at the NVC Center, ensuring methodological accuracy and approaches aligned with international standards.
