Media Literacy in the Pre-School Educational Process․ One-Day Workshop for Pre-school Teachers of Shirak Region

We are coming to Shirak region.

To carry out a workshop on media literacy.

Pre-School Teachers of Shirak Region can take part in.
Within the framework of the project “Acting for Safer Online Environment: information literacy intervention for preschools”, Public Journalism Club NGO determined to tour to several regions of the Republic of Armenia and to carry out a series of workshops, the aim of which is to promote critical thinking in pre-school educational institutions and the development of educational programs fostering media literacy.
Our first stop will be Shirak region, where a workshop will be organized for 15 educators on May 29.
The one-day workshop was developed on the basis of the following Finnish teaching manuals translated within the framework of this project:
- Explorers of the Media Map: Media Education Material about media and emotions
- Children and Media: A Handbook for Parents and Guardians
- Search for Reliable I Media Education Material about Science and Information.
The workshop will be conducted by Lusine Poghosyan, ASPU lecturer, Associate Professor and Tatevik Yenokyan, ASPU lecturer.
The aim of the workshop is to train educators to use media technologies in kindergarten and in elementary school and to increase media literacy of elementary school students.
This workshop will give an opportunity to realize the importance of educating media literate children, to stimulate critical thinking, to consider the educational processes as an opportunity to stimulate children’s creativity, independence, critical thinking.
The workshop will take place on May 29, 2021, at KASA Swiss Humanitarian Foundation.
