Mental Health Support to Media Workers in Armenia

Mental Health Support to Media Workers in Armenia

The Public Journalism Club (PJC), committed to fostering the mental well-being of Armenian media workers and providing a conducive professional atmosphere, aims to offer free psychological support to media representatives within implemeնting the “Mental Health Support to Media Workers in Armenia” project.

The project serves as a part of the Media Program in Armenia implemented by Internews in Armenia, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

The mental health support through individual or group psychological consultations are envisaged for those media workers (journalist, cameraman, editor, content creator) who have been involved in coverage related to:

  • war operations,
  • emergency situations,
  • traumatic events, stories,
  • post-war developments,
  • tragic events,

To tailor psychological support effectively to specific needs and targets, PJC collects contact information from interested partners. This information is solely utilized for disseminating project updates and arranging essential consultations.

If you are interested in this initiative, please fill out this online form by July 31, 2024.

Our organization collaborates with the expert team from the “Armenian Scientific Association of Psychologists” NGO, who will conduct a thorough assessment of the needs of media workers. Following this assessment, a curated list of psychologists will be made available for you to contact and consult with.

The privacy of your personal data will be strictly safeguarded. Only the psychologists you select for individual sessions will have access to this information. These sessions can be conducted either online or in person (offline). The frequency of the meetings will be tailored to your preferences and the guidance provided by the specialist.

Through gathering comprehensive data, our objective is to gain insight into the physical, psychological, and emotional aspects that journalists and media workers endure while fulfilling their professional responsibilities during these challenging times.
