Public Journalism Club  (PJC) in the scope of “Building Disinformation Resilience in CSO and Local Government Ecosystems” project, which is implemented with the financial assistance of the US Embassy in Armenia, announces the acceptance of applications for the first phase of the two-day CSO capacity building training.

Who can participate in the workshop?

• Foundations, non-governmental and non-profit organizations registered and operating in 4 regions of Armenia (Lori, Tavush, Gegharquniq, Aragatsotn) can participate.
• The representatives responsible for CSO communication, public relations and project management are encouraged to apply.
• Individuals, volunteers, and representatives who do not have institutional involvement in the organization (short-term) can’t participate in this training session

How to participate in this workshop?

To participate in the capacity building training session it is necessary to:

• Fill in the online application form,
• Send your CV to [email protected] email address (In the subject line of the email it is obligatory to mention “Regional CSOs against Disinformation – the name of the organization”.)

What are the selection criteria?

Applications received for the training session will be reviewed by an independent committee in accordance with the following criteria:

• The connection with information processes of the applying organization.
• How important is capacity building in this field for the organization?
• How will the applying organization use the acquired knowledge and skills in its operation?
• The applicant’s CV.

The deadlines of the workshop:

• Deadline for applying to the training session: April 6, 2022
• Deadline for the application review process: April 8, 2022
• Deadline for notifying results to the applicants: April 11, 2022
• The training session: April 14-15, 2022

The PJC covers all the travel, accommodation, and food expenses of the selected applicants.

In case of incomplete applications and/or submitted documents, the applicant’s application will not be considered.

The Public Journalism Club (PJC) has been working to combat disinformation for many years, implementing numerous local and international projects to develop media literacy, critical thinking, fact-checking, and information verification skills among the society (youth, adults, preschools, CSOs, etc.).

Nowadays, the identification of disinformation is becoming more and more complicated, new platforms are emerging, new tools are being created, technologies are growing day by day, which stimulate the circulation of information as much as they create fertile ground for manipulations, dissemination of fake news and disinformation. Very often, the CSOs that operate of community development, human rights, democracy, and many other areas become a target of fake news.

Identifying fake news among different groups of society is a complicated process, which is always supported by PJC. This time, the PJC is organizing a two-day capacity building workshop for regional CSO representatives.

This project will promote the establishment of a network of CSOs trained in the fight against disinformation, within the framework of which it is possible to further expand cooperation.
