The Public Journalism Club is pleased to invite media professionals and content creators from Nagorno-Karabakh to participate in a webinar focused on developing skills and competencies for telling human stories. The webinar will be led by Shushanik Papazyan, a journalist specializing in human stories and conflict reporting.
The webinar will take place on October 25th at 7:00 PM (Armenian time), via Zoom.
During the webinar, the following topics will be discussed:
- Analysis of journalistic work during the 44-day Nagorno-Karabakh war and forced displacement: Key ethical principles of journalism.
- Methodology for working with survivors of war: Criteria for selecting the subjects of journalistic stories and principles for choosing interview participants.
- Preparing for interviews with individuals who have suffered from torture and the ethical nuances of communicating with the relatives of fallen soldiers.
- Developing the structure of journalistic content, particularly the distinction and presentation of primary and secondary information, with a focus on the human story.
- Psychological support opportunities for media content creators.
The webinar is organized within the framework of the “Professional Media, Practitioners and Grassroots Joining Forces for Dialogue” project, implemented by the Public Journalism Club with support from the European Commission. The project partner is International Alert.
