The Importance of Ensuring and Promoting the Mental Health of Media Content Creators: Symposium

The Public Journalism Club and the Armenian Scientific Association of Psychologists NGO organize a symposium on “The Importance of Ensuring and Promoting the Mental Health of Media Content Creators.”

The event will take place on November 28, 2024, from 12:30 to 17:30 at the Opera Suite Hotel (1-3 Baghramyan Ave., Yerevan). The symposium is organized as part of the Media Program in Armenia, implemented by Internews in Armenia and funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Representatives from the media, NGOs, international organizations, embassies, and field experts will be in attendance. The agenda for the conference is attached, and the working language will be Armenian.

The Armenian Scientific Association of Psychologists NGO, commissioned by the Public Journalism Club, conducted a study on the socio-psychological needs of media content creators in Armenia who cover emergency situations. This study was carried out within the framework of PJC’s “Mental Health Support to Media Workers in Armenia” project.

During the symposium, the study findings will be presented, and the prospects for implementing certain formulated actions, especially from the perspective of the media and media community, will be discussed. These findings and actions are addressed to the challenges of maintaining and improving the mental health of media content creators. Additionally, a preliminary version of an internal policy aimed at supporting the socio-psychological well-being of media workers will be presented and discussed, and suggestions for its refinement will be collected.

The symposium provides an opportunity for discussion and exchange of ideas, which we believe will help in consolidating and comprehensively summarizing the data and proposals received, as well as envisioning and outlining the next steps.

Participation by invitation only.
