❓Can unexpressed pain turn into aggression, and unheard grief into hostility? How can we talk about the consequences of war, loss, and deep-rooted tensions between societies without creating new animosities?
▶️🎙️On Business FM’s Fresh Mind program, host Liana Khachatryan discussed these questions with Margarita Khudaverdyan, a participant in a nonviolent communication course and a candidate for trainer qualification.
🔍The discussion also explored Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, society’s historical experiences and experiences of war, and the formation of the enemy image. They also addressed why the public expression of society’s pain has been perceived by political authorities as a factor threatening the peace process. But is it possible to build lasting peace while ignoring people’s feelings, unheard voices, and unresolved pain?
🕊️Nonviolent communication does not mean denying pain or avoiding disagreements. It offers a way to discuss difficult issues while seeking to understand one another, acknowledge human needs, and overcome hostility through dialogue.
